^{Jackie Battle was taken as an undrafted free agent in 2007
by the Dallas Cowboys based mostly upon his performance at the 2007 NFL
Combine where he had a 41 inch verticle and ran a 4.42 40 yard dash.
After an injury to his ankle, the ^{Kansas City Chiefs
picked up Jackie Battle in 2007 and on December 23rd, 2007 Jackie
Battle's first NFL carry was for a touchdown. Battle has had an up
and down career in Kansas City since then, playing behind Larry Johnson,
Priest Holmes, and finally behind Thomas Jones and Jamaal Charles.
Normally, Chiefs fans would see Battle a little bit in the preseason and
again if a starting running back became injured, or in the rare instance
that The Chiefs took on a massive lead against an opponent and they
would sit out their starters - then you might see Jackie Battle get some

Jackie Battle 2011

In 2011, The Chiefs lost starting star running back Jamaal Charles for the season in the 2nd game, leaving them with only Thomas Jones at running back. Instead of looking outside the team for a free agent, the Chiefs decided to promote within, and gave Jackie Battle the chance to start at running back for the first time since he was signed 4 years ago in 2007. This would prove to be a great decision as Battle took opposing defenses by surprise and put up all star yards during his first 3 games as a starter. Battle, along with the rest of the Chiefs sputtered to a halt in a home game vs. the Miami Dolphins (who were 0-7 entering the game) and the Chiefs lost a pathetic, miserable game vs. the terrible and talentless Dolphins at home in front of an extremely astonished and disappointed crowd. Ah, the Chiefs, we LOVE to lose to the worst team in the league and then turn around and beat the best team in the league like they were nothing. Go figure.
