Tyler Palko was drafted as an undrafted free agent in 2007
by the New Orleans Saints. Palko then signed with the Arizona
Cardinals, and then the Pittsburgh Steelers before landing in Kansas
City in 2010. Palko shows flashes of quality quarterback skills,
but has yet to break through the practice squad or 3rd string, though
the Chiefs have used Palko in the 2nd string slot behind Matt Cassel on
occassion. Although Palko had a fairly productive college football
career, it doesn't appear that he is going to do anything big in the
NFL. The Chiefs played Palko for several quarters during the
preseason, giving him several opportunities to promote himself through
his game play, but he failed to show any real signs of a quality
quarterback.
As fate would have it,
Matt Cassel, after 2 back to back terrible performances was replaced
by Tyler Palko in week 11 of the 2011 Chiefs Season.
Tyler Palko got his first NFL start on November 21st, 2011 vs the New
England Patriots.
